Lonesome Primary Cultural Arts Project
Year 4 children from Lonesome Primary School in Mitcham,
Surrey, celebrated art and culture from around the world, using
objects in the British Museum as a starting
point.
The school felt the British Museum, with its displays of objects
from across the world, was a perfect source of inspiration for
their cultural celebration day. They focussed on the African,
Indian and Chinese galleries.
What they discovered was then shared with other schools and
their local community at a lively Cultural Arts Day in July
2009.
The project was run with the support of MLA London.
