Mummy portraits: uncanny likenesses

Year eight students from the Canterbury School in Las Palmas De Gran Canaria, Spain completed a self-portrait project inspired by Roman mummy portraits from Egypt at the British Museum and Manchester Museum.

Art teacher Talitha Clarke explained: “We used powder paint and PVA instead of encaustic, cardboard and sugar paper strips instead of bandages!”
