The Snettisham jeweller's hoard
From: Snettisham, Norfolk
Date: buried around AD 155
Amazingly these metal objects all fitted inside the pot in the picture. This collection once belonged to a jeweller and consists of items that he needed for his trade.
Have a look for the silver coins and ingots which are waiting to be melted down and made into jewellery. There is also scrap metal to be reused. Can you see the gemstones ready to be set into rings, and the rings waiting for the gemstones?
