Leaders and rulers in Roman Britain
Britain was the most westerly province in the Roman Empire. The emperor was kept in touch about Britain through a very efficient communications system on land and sea.
The Province was ruled by a governor who carried out the emperor's orders. Occasionally emperors, like Claudius and Hadrian, visted Britain.
