Dress and ornament in Roman Britain

Walking around Roman Britain, you would have seen many different fashions. Richer people often tried to dress like Romans. British nobleman who had become Roman citizens could wear togas and their wives might copy the hairstyle and fashion of the empress at the time.

Clothes were woven mainly from wool and the most common Roman garment was the simple tunic. However, the British overcoat was famous throughout the Roman empire.
