Found on: Mount Falterona, Italy (Etruscan)
Date: 420-400 BC
This is a model of a warrior dressed ready for battle. His helmet is a type from Athens with upturned cheek-pieces. He wears armour covered with thick leather plates to protect him, with a longer tunic underneath. He carries a round shield over his left arm, and you can just see part of a curved sword in his left hand, which has broken off. He probably also held a spear in his right hand.
The small statue is made of a metal called bronze. It was found near a small lake high on a mountain, where it had been left as a present to the gods.
