Gods and spirits in Ancient Egypt
The ancient Egyptians believed in many gods: some took the form of human beings, some looked like animals, and others were a mixture of both.
Ordinary people worshipped gods like Bes and Tawaret, who looked after the home. Gods like Re, the sun god, were worshipped only by rulers in special temples.
