Daily life in
Ancient Egypt

Most of what we know about daily life in ancient Egypt comes from paintings and objects buried in tombs. The Egyptians believed that after you died you would continue to need the same things as when you were alive, so they buried people with food, clothes and jewellery.

Scenes from wall paintings often have lots of detail about life in the home and farming, and it is clear that most people worked in the fields or as servants.
