Bride's apron
From: South Africa
Date: 20th century AD
The Ndebele people of southern Africa have their own special way of decorating their clothes. Thousands of tiny white and coloured glass beads are sewn on to sheepskin to make beautiful patterns. Clothes decorated like this are worn by women on special occasions.
This apron has five sticking-out 'fingers'. It was made by a girl's mother for her to wear on her wedding day.
