This sketch, drawn from life, shows a Punch and Judy puppet show being watched in the street. Punch and Judy is still shown today. However, in the show in this picture, Punch would have killed Judy, his baby and a policeman, then hanged the hangman who was supposed to be executing him. Nowadays he does not usually kill, but he does still hit pretty hard with his stick.
What kind of puppet? The Mr Punch in the picture is a glove puppet, the puppeteer is standing inside the booth.
