Home life in Sudan
'This bowl comes from Kush. It was
originally used for cooking and eating food. The pattern is made by
putting the top of the bowl in the fire to make it black. That is
why the middle is white. It was made in 1750-1550 BC and it is kind
of similar to the lacquered bowl which was made in Japan. We liked
this because it is pretty where the colours have mixed
together.'
