Queen Charlotte
Queen Charlotte was married to King George III
of England for 50 years and they had 15 children. George III was
sometimes ill in the head, when Charlotte had to look after him and
the household. Apart from that, she did not hold any real power of
her
own.

William
Hopkins Craft, who painted these pictures, has shown the King and
Queen wearing Roman clothes and in a classical landscape. The
potter Josiah Wedgewood sought Queen Charlotte's patronage
for his creamware (cream-coloured earthenware) and named it
'Queen's Ware' in her honour. It is still
known by this name today.
