Demolition July 2010
Demolition work began on the World Conservation and Exhibitions Centre site in spring 2010. This was followed by an archaeological dig which finished in October 2010. The archaeological excavation gave a fascinating insight into the rich history of the Bloomsbury area, revealing a number of seventeenth century finds, including a section of London’s Parliamentarian Civil War defence trench.
