Throne of Weapons
What happens when weapons are transformed into art? Young people from New Horizon Youth Centre worked with curator Chris Spring to discover the meanings behind this powerful piece which was made in 2001, entirely from weapons decommissioned during the Mozambique civil war. Focusing on wider issues such as violence and power the young people share their opinions on the object’s significance today and debate whether negative experiences can ever be turned into positive ones.
