What just happened?

To celebrate Vikings Live, we have replaced our Roman alphabet with the runic alphabet used by the Vikings, the Scandinavian ‘Younger Futhark’. The ‘Younger Futhark’ has only 16 letters, so we have used some of the runic letters more than once or combined two runes for one Roman letter.

For an excellent introduction to runes, we recommend Martin Findell’s book published by British Museum Press.

Office spaces

Approximately 200 staff work in the new Centre, with the majority of office accommodation being provided across one floor.

The design has allowed for a high degree of flexibility within these spaces and meeting rooms and other common areas will be incorporated into the arrangement.

By situating the offices in the upper section of the building, maximum use can be made of the daylight penetrating the building’s cast glass façade.
