Making your initial proposal for filming
Whether you require a large setting or a view of one of the smallest exhibits, you will be guided through every stage of the process. From site visit, administration and pre-planning through to managing your filming day, the Museum has dedicated staff on hand to help you.
Preparing your proposal
There is lots of information to help you plan and research your programme before making a proposal:
Information about objects
Consult the curators
Libraries and study rooms
Search the collection online database
Completing the proposal form
The Broadcast Unit endeavours to take forward all reasonable requests. The more information you give, the easier it will be to process your proposal. Please answer all questions in the proposal form and send it to filming@britishmuseum.org
Please note that all requests must comply with the terms and conditions for filming at the British Museum
What happens next?
You will be contacted as soon as possible to discuss your programme. If your request can be acccommodated you will need to submit a technical application form, risk assessment and the filming contract.
