What just happened?

To celebrate Vikings Live, we have replaced our Roman alphabet with the runic alphabet used by the Vikings, the Scandinavian ‘Younger Futhark’. The ‘Younger Futhark’ has only 16 letters, so we have used some of the runic letters more than once or combined two runes for one Roman letter.

Jago Cooper was appointed as Curator of the Americas in the department of Africa, Oceania and the Americas in 2012.

Jago has responsibility for the curation, presentation, development and research of the Americas collections at the British Museum. Jago has carried out fieldwork in Colombia, Barbados, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Belize, Mexico, UK, Spain, Sri Lanka, Australia and Rapa Nui.
