BMuse youth panel
Working with 16 – 19 year-olds

BMuse is the British Museum’s youth panel. It first came together in 2009 to promote the British Museum among younger people. The Group is open to participants that have taken part in Talking Objects projects.

Recent BMuse projects include:

  • A partnership with the Yak Yak youth panel at Tullie House Carlisle, including a stay in Carlisle and hosting the panel on an activity day in London
  • Developing Roman Britain activities for a visit to Hadrian’s Wall with the Yak Yak youth panel in 2011
  • Hosting the Talking Objects 2010 celebration, including giving presentations on their Talking Objects pieces, creating and delivering a presentation to VIP guests and engaging the public in conversations about objects in the Museum
  • Hosting a day of activities for the People & Place Celebration 2011, including printmaking and badgemaking workshops, object handling and debate sessions on an Ice Age object
  • Progressing towards the Bronze Arts Award by participating in Museum activities
  • Becoming Youth volunteers at the British Museum
  • Developing programmes and workshops for young people at British Museum
